Antoine Mondou is Brand Manager at AJC.
We asked him 5 questions to get to know him better.
1. Where do you come from ?
I was born and grew up in Bordeaux, France. A town close to the Atlantic Ocean and surrounded by vineyards. Bordeaux is renowned in France and around the world for its red wine.
2. Why did you move to Port Vila ?
I have traveled and lived in different cities for the past 8 years: South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Nicaragua, … and it is a need for me to go on an adventure and discover new places.
My partner shares this, she had a job offer at the french school in Port Vila (Lycée Français JMG Le Clézio) and 4 months later we were packing for a new life.
3. What are your favorite hobbies ?
Surfing and it is also a reason why we chose Vanuatu. I spend most of my free time looking at the weather forecast and surfing. When I’m not surfing, I swim, I dive, … the ocean is a big part of my life.
4. Where do you see yourself in 5 or 10 years ?
If you had asked me the same question 5 or 10 years ago, I never thought I would be here doing what I do. So I can’t tell you what to do next.
Maybe still in Vanuatu, maybe back in France or maybe in another country. One thing is for sure is that I will always live by the ocean and I will always surf.
5. What do you like the most in Vanuatu ?
The omnipresent and luxuriant nature, the beaches, the waves …
The smiling, welcoming, warm population …
The dances, the songs, the culture, ….
Vanuatu is an archipelago made up of a small island with a strong cultural diversity.
